I often get asked how I find the time to do everything I do. My first response is usually laughter because, in my mind, I want to go off on a tangent about how time is non-existent. The only thing that matters is right here, right now. And, that’s the truth. What you're doing in this very moment is the foundation for how you’ll live later.
So that brings up a deeper question...
How do you see yourself living in the future?
If I had it my way, I’d wake up whenever my body signaled it was time to start the day— No alarm clock needed. My first instinct would be to thank God for waking me up and allowing me to continue shining my light on Earth another day. Then, I’d light a candle and stretch my body with a quick 10-minute YouTube video like this one….
I’d grab my headphones and go for a 30-minute walk, blasting whatever tunes fit my mood, before heading home to shower and get ready for work— preferably a service position where I’m helping others advance in life. I’d end my day in my garden, sipping wine and watering my plants.
Once I truly understood what I wanted, I slowly started welcoming these small, quiet moments into my daily routine. What I didn’t expect was that it would help me become a better mother and a more balanced woman. A lot of times, we look for peace, joy, and all the feel-good emotions outside of ourselves when, in reality, we are the source of true joy.
After fasting throughout February, I reconnected with my love for solitude. Taking intentional breaks to silence the noise of the day did wonders for my nervous system. Heading into March, I plan on keeping that same energy. After meeting some amazing souls on Substack who were fasting with me, I realized there’s beauty in community. I noticed inviting others into my personal self-growth journey helps me stay accountable while also reassuring others they’re not alone on their own journey’s. Between you and me, I need that, and seeing the results of the fast has shown me others do too.
March will be a continuation of falling deeper in love with the peace and solitude within myself. I’m doing a 31-day challenge called "Fall in Love with Your Solitude,"
where I’ll do one thing alone each day and dropping a photo in my chat to practice what I preach. If you’ve been feeling anxious or overwhelmed I encourage you to take your armor off by relaxing with me.
