Preparing for Kingdom Experiences and Expansion
Understanding “God’s Kingdom Principles” book chat Part 1
“Power is natural to the human spirit”- Myles Munroe
Now all my cousins say, AMEN!!
Welcome Back to another Chats with Candice!
It’s been a minute, fam. I can’t lie. I’m still riding the mental high from our last chat.
The Universe is Mental
“You are the only thing standing between yourself and utilizing your mind to develop a vision that positively gears the trajectory of your own life.”- J.E Ditto
Some conversations hit different. They’re the confirmation you didn’t know you needed to reassure you that you’re on the right track. Over the past few weeks, I decided to lock in and learn how to truly expand my mind and spirit. Every day, either in the morning or at night, I’ve spent no less than 30 minutes with the late, great Dr. Myles Munroe, studying his Kingdom Series.
*If you haven’t watched it, do yourself a favor and check it out.
Throughout his sermons on elevating to the spiritual level of kingdom living, Dr. Munroe kept referencing a particular book. So you already know what I did next...
“Preparing for Kingdom Experience and Expansion” is 215 pages of straight glory.
This book is broken down into 12 chapters, each focusing on kingdom concepts and 7 key principles that revolve around the priority of "The Kingdom."
Kingdom: the governing influence of a king over a territory impacting it with his will, his purpose, and his intent producing a culture of values, morals, and lifestyle that reflects the king’s personal desires and his nature in his citizens.
Spoiler Note *a kingdom is not a religion, it’s a government.
At the end of each chapter, Munroe drops principles grounded in this truth: to access the Kingdom of God, we must understand the following:
Understand Kingdom Concept
Understand Kingdom Philosophy
Understand Kingdom Government
Understand Kingdom Law
Understand Kingdom Culture
Understand Kingdom Society
Understand Kingdom Economy
Understand Kingdom Citizenship
Understand Kingdom Provision
Understand Kingdom Worship
Understand Kingdom Protocol
Understand Kingdom Representation
At the end of each chapter, Munroe drops principles rooted in the truth: to access the Kingdom of God, we must do the following:
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. - Matthew 6:33
In simple terms: When you find & put God’s will first, He ensures you’re never last.
Becoming a citizen of the Kingdom places you within reach of the resources you need to fulfill the assignment God designed you for. So those dreams you’ve been given? Yeah cousin, they came with divine instructions to carry you through to completion.
What gift do you have to share with God’s people who are in need?
“Religion is the most powerful force on Earth.”- Dr. Myles Munroe
Religion is the sh*t, if I do say so myself, if I do say so myself. 🎶
($20 to whoever comments the song first that popped into my head while typing that!)
Religion: the adherence to a set of beliefs that regular the moral, social, and ritualistic behavior of an individual.
I believe religion is necessary for living a peaceful, well-rounded life. We all need a structure to live by and each religion brings its own set of values to the table.
Think of religion like school.
When we enroll in school it’s to grow in knowledge so we can function in life. There’s a home room, and then there are other classes: math, reading, science, gym each offering a different skill set to prepare us for adulthood. Religion is the school of belief. And in this school, we have:
Christianity (which is my home room)
Islam
Hinduism
Buddhism
Judaism
Baha’i
And the list continues….
Personally, I identify as a child of God. But if you need me to niche it down for you, I major in Christianity. That’s where my journey started. But once I got deep into fasting, I realized the Bible didn’t speak on it as extensively as I hoped. So, I ventured into Islamic teachings. Muslims in my opinion prioritize discipline more than Christianity, which often centers around love. From there, I explored Buddhism to develop my understanding of happiness.
Long story short? I've been wandering. Spiritually curious. And I realized:
I had put God's truth in a box too small.
There are blessings in every religion. Our job is to develop the insight to move beyond our own biases and let each lesson shape us. Religion gave me rules. Spirituality gave me relationship.
Ultimately, I agree with Dr. Munroe’s perspective:
“All religions are the same in the sense that they attempt to answer the question of power and meaning.”- Myles Munroe
He explains that religion is man-made, and that all people, regardless of their faith, are really searching for two things:
Power: divine authority and influence granted to believers who live in alignment with God’s purpose, laws, and values.
Purpose: the original reason for your existence, designed by God, and discovering it is the key to living a meaningful, powerful, and impactful life.
What 2 things are you searching for in life?
While you sit with that question, let’s go ahead and chat about these chapters. First things first…this is a partial summary. Life and work (and work and life) have had my free time in a chokehold. Probably just an excuse, but I say that to acknowledge I haven’t been reading the way I want too lately! So, for now we’re going to chit chat about the first six chapters, and we’ll pick up the rest in part two.
“Preparing for Kingdom Experience and Expansion” is a roadmap to accessing “The Kingdom,” starting all the way back at the beginning when we lost dominion through Adam and Eve.
Dominion- sets the framework for all the desires, passions, and activities of mankind and is the key to his fulfilment and personal corporate peace.
Chapter Summary
Chapter 1: The Priority of the Kingdom- Discovering, understanding, and entering the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
Chapter 2: The Kingdom of God vs. The Government of Man- Defining government through power & authority given by God and man in forms of rulership, feudalism, dictatorship, communism, socialism, and democracy.
You have creative rights to the whole universe.
When’s the last time you sat down and asked God for something you couldn’t put your hands on? “You have not because you ask not.” Ask God to extend you an invitation to the Kingdom because the truth is, we all have access to His wealth.
“The wealth in a kingdom is common.” - pg 53
Common Wealth- equal access to wealth amongst citizens.
Chapter 3: The Original Kingdom Concept- a heavenly origin on the colonization of Earth.
The reality of God’s big picture.
God’s big picture= extending his invisible rulership to a visible world.
God’s big picture is the framework for our big picture.
Chapter 4: Kingdom Concept #1- Understanding the Kingdom concepts of Kings.
14 characteristics of a king
Chapter 5: Kingdom Concept #2- Understanding the Concept of Lord
*The Kingdom Lordship Principle: All true kings must have and own territory.
What territory has God given you lordship over? Your territory is your thing! Maybe it’s a ministry, a business, or a nonprofit. You can’t operate as a king without property. So, ask God to grant you a plot of land in His Kingdom.
Chapter 6: Kingdom Concept #3- Understanding the Kingdom Concept of Territory
7 kingdom principles for owning territory
God has given us authority over the earth. That means we’re in charge. Whatever we say goes. - Myles Munroe
Cousin, let’s walk in what’s already ours. God gave you authority, so that means you’re not just here to survive, you’re here to rule. Say this with me:
What I speak in faith will be established.
You don’t have to play small anymore. From this day forward show up like the Kingdom ambassadors you’re created to be…. bold, trusted, and backed by Heaven. And don’t forget to come back for part 2!!!! We’re just getting started!
